Another Consult Today

We had another consult with our High-risk doctor this morning. Melanie went to her nephorologist (kidney doctor) yesterday for a check up. All of her levels are fine, except her phosphorous is low. So she has a new diet, it consists of milkshakes, pizza, and soda among others (this is for real). Her kidney doctor and our high risk doctor talked thus the consult.

Everything is good, except that Melanie's iron is really low. She is anemic and so is Anna. So Melanie is going for an IV of iron early in the morning to help correct this. The doctor said this is the least of our worries now, so it is really no big deal. The baby is still moving and Melanie gained another pound so all is good in the Balabanski house tonight.

Please continue to pray for us.

Love,
Nick & Mel

  3. Nick and Mel,
I had no idea all that you all had been going through. I have called the Pink Sisters of St. Louis, MO. and added Anna Grace to the prayers and intentions of this powerful group of women. They have a proven track record! I also wanted to share a story with you, I know you are surprised that I would have a story to share. My niece also recently went through a troubled pregnancy. She was told that her baby, if she lived, would need surgery on her kidneys immediately after birth and that she probably would not be strong enough to survive the surgery. She was also told that the baby had a high liklihood of having down syndrome. My niece did not have amnio done, and so was prepared for all of the above. Her prayer was that the baby live, all else she could deal with, she just wanted her to live. Kelly O'Connor Forbes was born to my niece and her husband @ 5 weeks ago. She is a healthy and happy baby, she was very small at birth, we like to say she is petite. We prayed and prayed for her to join our big Irish Catholic family and she has. I have the same prayer for Anna Grace, as I know her parents and feel she is a very lucky and loved little girl. I believe in Nick's optimism, and both of your faith to get you through. Also know that your extended family have you in our hearts, minds and prayers. Mel, I totally believe in your theory about the fish and the bowl, and Nick I LOVE the positive affirmation board.
Please know that you all are in my daily prayers.
    Peace,
    Mo
